The "Journal of Research and Development in Private Law" is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Iranian Law and Legal Research Institute. Established in 2024, the journal aims to reflect progress in law and report on key legal issues by publishing high-quality articles.
The journal's editorial board consists primarily of professors from leading Iranian universities, including Tehran, Shahid Beheshti, Allameh, and Modares, as well as judges. Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Research and Development in Private Law undergo a rigorous Double-Blind Peer Review process, whereby the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review procedure.
The review process consists of the following stages:
- Initial Screening: Upon submission, manuscripts are checked by the Editorial Office for compliance with the journal's scope, formatting requirements, submission guidelines, and publication ethics standards.
- Plagiarism Check: All submissions are screened using the Samim Noor similarity detection system to ensure originality and compliance with research integrity standards.
- External Peer Review: Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary evaluation are sent to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area.
- Review Criteria: Reviewers assess manuscripts based on originality, legal analysis, methodological soundness, academic contribution, relevance of references, clarity of presentation, and adherence to scholarly standards.
- Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers’ reports, one of the following decisions may be made:
- Accept without revisions;
- Accept with minor revisions;
- Major revisions required and resubmission;
- Reject.
- Revision Stage: When revisions are requested, authors are required to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. The revised version may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
- Final Decision: The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal's editorial policies.
The journal follows the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) throughout all stages of review and publication.
